Interdistrict Permit Information
for "New" Incoming Permit Applicants
It is very
crucial that you notify your district of residence to
find out when you can submit your
release request for the
2013-2014 school year. You do
not want to miss the
opportunity to apply. Please
note the timeframe for LAUSD:
* Los Angeles Unified School
District:
February 1, 2013 - April 30, 2013
(All
applications must be submitted online at www.lausd.net)

Thank you for your interest in the Wiseburn School
District.
Last
year, we handled over 1,400
applications.
The
following should
answer any questions you might have regarding the
permit process:
- Permit applications will become available on
Monday, April 1, 2013
for the 2013-2014 school year.
- Even though you have
obtained an “approved” release from your
school of residence, your child is still guaranteed a seat to return
to his/her resident school district if you choose to return.
- Filling out our Interdistrict Permit Application does
not
guarantee
your child a space. We ask that you have a “Plan B” in case we
are unable to meet your permit request.
-
New incoming interdistrict permits are approved
on space availability.
-
Applications will be reviewed and processed
starting the first week in July through the first week of September.
All applications are treated equally,
not
on a first-come, first serve basis - approvals shall be
determined by lottery.
Please refrain from making any calls to
check
on the status of your child’s application at this time. Because of the large volume of applicants, we cannot return every single call in a timely manner, especially during the end of August. We apologize in advance.
-
Only
approved applicants for Kindergarten
will be notified by mail three to four weeks after receipt
of their approved release starting in April and ending the first week of school.
- Only approved applicants for Grades 1st through 8th will be notified by mail and/or by phone starting in July and ending the first week of school.
call by the end of the first week of school, it means that the amount
of applications we received exceeded the amount of spaces we had
available and your child’s application will be placed on a wait list until
the end of September to see if more seats become available. Please
do not call. You will be notified by phone only if a seat becomes
available.
-
There
is a possibility that we may not be able to honor the school you
requested based on lack of seat availability at that particular
school.
If that happens and your application is
approved, your child will be placed at one of our other schools that
do have a seat available.
